The 1994 Proof Set saw its mintage drop slightly from the prior year. This trend would continue for the next few years. The sets once again contained a total of five coins with a face value of 91 cents. The five coins were minted at the San Francisco Mint and carried the "S" mint mark. Coins included the Kennedy Half, Washington Quarter, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and Lincoln Cent.
In addition to the standard proof set, the US Mint issued the 1993 Prestige Proof Set which contained the 1994 World up Commemorative Half and Dollar coins. The 1994 Silver Proof Set was also issued, which contained 90% silver versions of three coins.
The 1994 Proof Set had its packaging redesigned with a new brighter color. The prior purple colored packaging had been used from 1984 to 1993. The new packaging had the coins placed within a green colored cardboard and sealed in a plastic lens. This lens was placed within a green cardboard box with silver printing "United States Mint Proof Set 1994."
