All coins carry the "S" mint mark for San Francisco and stuck with deep cameo finishes.
The US Mint offered a special version of the silver proof set known as the 1996 Premier Silver Proof Set. This set was issued at a price of $37.50 and sold 151,366 units. The set has the same coins contained in the standard silver proof set, however it comes in much more ornate packaging which can be arranged to display the coins.
The packaging for the 1996 Silver Proof Set was themed in black. The coins are fit into circular cutouts of a black cardboard holder and sealed within a plastic lens. This lens has the word "Silver" imprinted on the front. The lens is placed within a black card board box with silver lettering denoting the contents.
